With the MFJ-2100 Octopus Antenna Mount
and 4 sets of HF mobile whips from the MFJ 16 .. series (optional) you can create four tuned monoband dipoles with a common feeding point and built-in balun in a few minutes.
Equipped with optional 80, 40, 30 and 20m whips and fixed at approximately 9 meters suitable for NVIS at 80 meters. The antenna has a low radiation on 20 meters and is therefore suitable for DX.
A mix of HF and VHF whips can also be applied. For example 80, 40, 20 and 2m (for each band two whips arranged opposite each other). For optimum use, the Octopus antenna mount can be rotated with a small rotor.
You do not need an antenna tuner if you fine-tune each dipole. It is easier to set each dipole approximately to frequency and to use an antenna tuner to increase the workable bandwidth.
The Octopus Antenna Mount is suitable for portable use, limited space, field day, camping, ARES, etc.
