The Diamond WD-330S
is a broadband folded dipole antenna according to the principle T2FD (Tilted Terminated Folded Dipole), which was developed in the 40s by the United States Navy. Impedance and radiation pattern are almost constant over a wide frequency range.
In the middle of the upper antenna wire is a non-inductive resistance of 390 ohm / 50 watt (!), which will absorb approximately 1/3 of the transmit power. The impedance in the center of the lower conductor is about 300 ohms and connected to the 50 Ohm coaxial feedline via 1: 6 balun. Some 50 cm long spreaders will hold the two conductors at a give distance. Usually 1/100 at the lowest frequency. The best results are obtained when the antenna will be hanged sloping at an angle of 20-40 degrees.
Suitable for radio listening amateur as well as professional applications.
