The MFJ-209C SWR Analyzer is an easy to operate, versatile test instrument for analyzing nearly any 50 ohm RF system on frequencies between 0.53 and 230 MHz. In addition the MFJ-209C can be used as signal source.

This MFJ Starter SWR Analyzer lets you read SWR from 530 KHz to 230 MHz quickly only on a single analog meter. Tune knob, frequency control switch. No LCD module, counter or charging circuit. Use 10 AAcells or 110 VAC with MFJ-1312D.

The MFJ-209C combines three basic circuits; a wide range oscillator, a 50 ohm RF bridge, and a calibrated bridge unbalance indicator. This combination of circuits allows measurement of the SWR (referenced to 50 ohms) of any load connected to the ANTENNA connector.

The MFJ-209C covers all ham bands from 0.53 to 230 MHz. The dial calibration is approximate and for reference only. The actual frequency may vary from what is marked on the front panel. The MFJ-209C FREQUENCY switch selects the following frequency ranges:

Main Band : 155-230 MHz, 113-155 MHz, 67-113 MHz, 28-67 MHz, 11-28 MHz
Lower-Range Band : 4.7-11 MHz, 2.1-4.7 MHz, 1.0-2.1 MHz, en 0.53-1.0 MHz

A frequency counter can be connected to the "FREQ. OUT" jack (RCA phono) to get a more accurate reading of the frequency. As an alternative to a frequency counter, you can zero beat the output with an HF receiver. See the section on zero beating the MFJ-209 with a receiver.
